Adam Sender manages a major hedge fund, Exis Capital Management, which is located in New York City. Bloomberg.com describes hedge funds as private, largely unregulated, pools of capital whose managers are able to buy or sell any assets, bet on failing as well as rising prices, and participating significantly in profits from money which is invested. Managers generally charge substantial fees of 2% of assets and 20% of investment profits.
Lost amongst Sender's other unique talents is his penchant for buying pricey art. His collection of mostly modern art now numbers somewhere around 800 pieces and is valued around $100 million.
Sender has longed worked in finance, going back to 1989 when he started trading stocks at the University of Michigan. His experience in the industry of finance lends a certain credence to his unblemished record in the market.
